Default How to lock only some cells in 2010 ?

I have made a document in Word 2010, containing a lot of cells/rows. In a few of these cells I have some dropdown lists. As I can see, it is only possibly to use these dropdown lists, if I lock the document. If I lock the document, I can't write any information into the rest of the document.

How can I only lock those few cells, that contains my dropdown lists ?

Hi Kim,

Assuming you're using dropdown content controls and no formfields, apply the 'No Changes (read only)' restriction to the document, marking anywhere you want users to be able to edit as an exception. Then apply the protection.

Thanks It works - almost...

I'm able to protect those cells that I don't want users to change, and keep those cells unprotected that they are allowed to make changes too. So far so good

But the problem is still my dropdownlists. If I protect the cells with the dropdownlists, I can't select anything in the list. If I unprotect theses cells, the users can use the list but also delete the hole dropdownlist.

Is it possibly to protect a cell with a dropdownlist, and still have the user to be able to use it, but with out the option to delete the list ?

I used this guide and your help

What you do for the content controls is you leave them unprotected, but set their properties to 'cannot be deleted'.
