Default Table cell marker is red

Hi

I am attempting to publish an Office Word document .doc type. I am using CuteNews and have done so for several years. For some reason, although CuteNews accepts the copy and paste from Word, the article is not visible. I found that the last page of the document consisted of a full page scan of photos. Cutenews will not accept images in Word they have to be uploaded separately and then inserted. Unfortunately, the article is still invisible after removing the scan page.

This might have no relevance to my problem but some of the table cells have the cell marker - the Universal Monetary Symbol -in red and there are also a few paragraph markers in red as well. What does this mean?

Thanks

Geoff

The red probably indicates Track Changes.

Thanks Charles,

The author of the document does not share his work with anyone and the red marks are only applied to empty cells in a table. I have no idea whether this situation could affect my problem with CuteNews. I am in contact with the CuteNews forum so hopefully someone may suggest a solution.

That he didn't share does not mean that Track Changes is turned off. If it is turned on, turn it off and accept all changes.

Thanks Charles,

Track changes was turned off. I have also checked a similar document and have noted that it also has codes in red. I'll check to see whether other options for the documents are the same. I have tried to publish the document in another of my websites that has CuteNews installed and I am getting the same result - document copy accepted by the Cutenews WSIWYG editor and successfully saved but not visible on the web page.

Since the installations of Cutenews on the two websites have their own data files I can only conclude that something is wrong with the Word document. The only difference between the content of the two documents is that the document that won't post had a scanned image attached. This was removed so unless there is some residual code that I can't see related to the scanned image I am at a loss as to what is wrong. The two documents were created a month apart both being the minutes of a local parish council meeting which contain similar content.

Thanks once more for your help with this issue.
