Question Adobe 100% appears larger than Word 100%

I converted a PDF file into a Word file but the table spacing didn't come out just right so I need to make some changes. So, I opened the PDF file in Adobe Reader and moved (on the desktop, I mean) the document directly under the Word document. I set the "zoom" on both files to 100%. I don't know why, but the PDF file appears much wider than the Word document. I can't figure this out. Any suggestions? Thanks.

No conversion is going to be 100% perfect. Particularly as Word derives its content display from its printer driver. It is very possible that the same conversion could look different again in Word on a different computer.

The difference will be due to how each program calculates what the correct display width should be.

Quite reasonably, Adobe and Microsoft will have their own ways of doing this and the results might differ from one system to another, especially when you take into account what the display driver might do.

On my system, an A4 page (actual 21cm width), when viewed in either Acrobat or Word at 100%, has a display width of 20.5cm.
