Error message when opening any template
Whenever I open word and clilck on any template I get the message shown in the attachment. This is also shown in windows explorer when I highlight a word doc. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am using Word 2013 and windows 7. Thanks |

Have you checked your macro security settings in Word? In Word, click on Developer>Macro Security, then choose the 2nd or 3rd option from the top.

Macro message
Quote:
⦁ The macro was deleted from the template. ⦁ The template was not loaded or referenced in the Templates and Add-ins command. I could not find any reference to a macro in the normal template and followed the instructions without any luck. |

Are you opening an actual Word template, or just a document you're calling a template? It'd be quite unusual for a template to generate the kind of message you're describing, but not for a document with a macro that references another that's supposed to be in its template. Alternatively, the message could be generated by a faulty 3rd-party addin.

I believe that it is a template. When you open up word 2013, it automatically goes to a list of many templates, including the basic blank document. This is different than the other versions of Word that I have used in the past. I have downloaded another template from microsoft which is single spaced blank document. That has the same problem. with the message. I have not made a new template, since I believe it would have the same problem.
Thanks for the response. |

The problem is resolved. An Add-in that was automatically added when I installed Word 2013 caused the problems. The problem was the automatically loaded add-in file called AVWiz14s.dotm, which is associated with an Avery Label Wizard. I searched for the file and deleted it without any problems. It now works. It seems that the add in impacts all templates.
Thanks for your ideas and support. |

Those cursed add-ins. It is unfortunate that so many of them cause so much pain. While some responsibility lies with the 3rd party applications, I squarely point an accusing finger at Microsoft for not letting developers full access to the internal workings.
