![]() OK, so I just opened the style inspector to help me think about another post in the forum; clicked in a formatted paragraph, and was not surprised to read Paragraph formatting {name} plus none, Text level formatting, default paragraph format plus none. So far so good. Then I though I'd try it out. I applied local overrides to the paragraph by changing the colour, adding italic and changing the space before. What does the eagle-eyed inspector report? "Paragraph formatting {name} plus none, Text level formatting, default paragraph format plus none." Am I missing something about how to use the inspector? |

The Style Inspector seems to be broken in Word 2010 (this could have been caused by one of the recent updates). For what it's worth, it works correctly in Word 2013.
Note that you can use the Reveal Formatting pane instead (press Shift+F1).

Thanks for the tip, Stefan; with Distinguish style source selected, the Reveal formatting pane did indeed successfully identify local overrides. I'll add this to the post I was originally looking at.
