Default Looking to find a setting/hack to not autoformat bacteria names, such as E. coli

Is there a way to do this only for formatting where there is one capital letter, then a period, and not capitalize the next word? So if I type E. coli it will not be reformatted to the incorrect E. Coli, but I still want to have it capitalize new sentances

Thanks

You can Undo immediately after the capitalization has occurred. You should also be able to add "E. coli" as an exception in the AutoCorrect dialog box. Sorry, I can't offer you the exact steps, since I'm not using MacWord.
