Disable "Previous Version" notification bar
Hello,
When we open a previous version of a document, MS Word has a yellow banner notification asking the user if s/he'd like to Restore or Compare the version. I'd like to disable that notification so it doesn't appear at all when opening a previous version (which is defaulted to Read-Only). Is there a way to do this? Thanks! |

Are you referring to the Versioning feature which was available in Word 97-2003? In that case, take a look at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...332.aspx?CTT=1 and http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=11454.

In Word 2010, a user can click on previous versions of that document. When a user clicks on a previous version, a yellow banner appears at the top that says "Previous Version. A newer version is available. Compare. Restore." I'd like that yellow banner NOT to appear. I'm trying to eliminate the option for users to Restore.

OK, perhaps you are using SharePoint or some other document management system? I'm not familiar with any of those, unfortunately.
