I have used a Word file with a password on it to store sensitive things like account numbers and passwords for quite some time. I now have Office 2007 installed.
I recently bought a new Windows 7 64-bit machine and all worked fine BEFORE I joined my home network Domain. The other day I paid a guy to upgrade my Dell network server to Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. When he did that he got on my Windows 7 machine and joined the Domain. After he did that it was like I was a different user. My desktop icons were all gone and my applications in the tray were gone. No problem - I got all that stuff going again but when I try to open that Word file I get a dialog that tells me it is password protected BUT it does not give me a dialog to enter the password and open the file! That file has everything in it. I NEED that file. Does any one know why this is happening? I tried to right-click on it to open as administrator but that option does not appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
