Default Drop down menus colour formatting - Newbie question

Hi,

I have a document with a number of drop down forms, as a user selects an option i would like the selected cell to change colour, for example:

If the user selects no action required the cell turns green, if some issues identified the cell turns amber, if there is a show-stopper the cell is red.

I have absolutely zero experience with VBA and my search here/google produced no previous examples, if anyone can please help me out i would be eternally grateful.

Cheers!

Please clarify some things.

WHAT cell? Where is it selected? Do you mean the dropdown is IN a table cell?

This, I assume, means "No action required" is an actul item in the dropdown. But what on earth does "some issues identified" mean? Is this an item as well? And show stopper is an item as well?
