Merge text into an image in Word 2007?
I've got an image I'd like to add text to in a Word 2007 document, but if I use a text box then later resize or move the image, the text is misaligned. Is there a way to merge the text with the image so it's permanently part of the image? I can use Photoshop, but the text quality is much better with Word. Thanks.

You can insert a drawing canvas (Insert tab | Shape | New Drawing Canvas) and put both the picture and the text box inside the canvas.

Both text boxes and graphics are graphics to Word. You can select both and "group" them so that moving or resizing applies to both.

Thanks for both of those great tips.
I created a canvas and got my text boxes inserted, now there seems to be another snag (see attached picture). I'd like to draw a straight line from the word "kots" to the pointed end of the leg (in the upper right-hand corner of the text box) to identify it. But the line doesn't go where I put it, it ends up askew and everywhere but where I intended. It doesn't seem to matter whether the objects are grouped or not, it still does it. |
