Default Index page number formatting

In a Word 2010 index, when there are several page numbers for an entry, the first page number often runs right up against the entry.

For example, one entry looks like this:
Cash Medical40, 41, 43, 47, 48, 51, 52

In the above example, there should be some space between "Cash Medical" and "40, 41, 43, 47, 48, 51, 52."

How can I get Word 2010 to always include some space between an index entry description and its first page number?
