top margin has changed on one page only help!
Hi,
I'm new here. I've been formatting a book using Word. I've got a problem near the end of my book. On the last page of a chapter, the margin is different from any other page. My text flows to that page and appears lower, instead of 3/4" down from top of page, it's more like 1 1/2" from top. I've checked everything. The margins look fine. What could be going on? |

Have you checked the size of the header? You may not have intentionally entered a header, but the space for one will be there and may be bigger for some reason on this page.

Sorry if these are obvious, but it's always worth checking! You could simply have some unnecessary extra paragraph marks here - check by clicking on the ¶ symbol - or perhaps the first paragraph on the new page is formatted with "Space Before" ...

Turn on display of non-printing characters (Ctrl-Shift-8 or Ctrl-*). Is there a section break there? That section may have a different header.
Sections / Headers and Footers in Microsoft Word 2007-2013 You can insert a section break without knowing it by changing columns, orientation, or margins. |
