Hi all -
The document is divided into several Units. In the HEADER I set each Unit to be numbered 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and when Unit 2 begins, the page count continues as 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, etc., so that within each Unit the pages are numbered sequentially. This was not a problem. The problem is with the FOOTER. I want a continuous page count to number all pages in the document. Every time I update the footer's page reference to continue to the previous, it changes the page number in the header. For example, Unit 3 begins on page 25 so the header should be 3-1 and the footer page 25 ... instead it ends up being 3-25 and 25. If I change it back to 3-1, then the footer reverts to 1. If Word is not set up to work this way, is there a work around? Thanks! |
