Saving Network Word doc
Once you've checked the "Make local copy of files stored on network or removable drives" box, Word makes a local copy each time you open a file from a network drive. The temporary document is stored in a temp file with an auto-generated name with the .tmp extension (for example, ~WRC1744.tmp) in your %userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp folder. My question is in Word 2003 I haven't been able to locate any copy of these use *.tmp or any other combination. Is there a way to tell where these files are to be copied. This would be helpful when checking the "save backup copy" It save it to the same network drive instead of on my local drive. Also is the "Make local copy of files stored on network or removable drives" available in Word 2007? Thanks in advance. |
