Default When CTRL+END does work?

I have the impression that sometimes CTRL+END works and sometimes does not. When does it work? I remind you CTRL+END is supposed to get you to the end of the document

Hi, theta30. It is sometimes the case that after pressing another of the "power" keys, such as Alt, Ctrl++End may not work, because Word's focus -- where it is expecting the next operation -- has changed from the main document window. Simply pressing Alt, for example, moves the focus to the Ribbon, so that, for instance, pressing H will activate the Home tab, R the Review tab, etc.

Best,
Ulodesk

It sounds silly, but last time I was clicking SPACE instead of END.
