Large gap at base of page when print track changes

Hello,

I'm sure there's a simple solution to this but I can't seem to find it.

When I edit with track changes, and view the document in 'print layout' it looks completely normal. But when I go to print a large gap appears at the bottom of the page. It shows in the print preview and the actual print out has it too (it's about 6cm).

It isn't connected to margins, because if I change the bottom margin the change is introduced above this large gap.

It's as if when I go print, it squishes the whole document upwards.

Can anyone help?

If you make use of so-called balloons for comments and markup, you should expect the printout to shrink a bit, upwards and to the left. Word is reserving space for the balloon area.

Did you find it helpful? If you hide the balloons, then does your document look correctly?

Yes, it was useful thanks!
When I removed the balloons it returned to normal. However, I do want to keep the comments on the print out so I'll just get used to the gap at the base of the page.
