Hi Folks,
I hope you can help. I'm using Word 2003. I'm formatting a novel to send off and I want to delete page numbers for the first four pages as they're the title page with a blank reverse and the dedications page with a blank reverse. That way, I can begin the first page of Chapter 1 as page 1 (or page 5, whatever). I've read up on dividing the documents into sections so that I can do individual formatting for each section... but I've tried all ways to get it to NOT have numbers on those first 4 pages, and still they come up. How can I 'isolate' the first section in the document so that page numbers only appear on the second section? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. I've even tried inserting a white rectangle to cover the numbers, as you can do on later versions of Word, but it doesn't work... |

You need to add a section break and then unlink headers and footers. See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...rontmatter.htm.
