Spell Checking problem
PROBLEM NOW SOLVED !
I am working in a pre-existing document that appears to have some text marked as not requiring a spell check. When I do a spell check it is not picking up obvious mistakes (nor highlighting them) and a message comes up "Text marked with 'do not check spelling or grammar' was skipped". Any ideas on how to change this please? I have tried microsoft help but to no avail. thanks Helen Last edited by helenm; 07-17-2013 at 03:36 AM. Reason: problem solved |

If you select all text in the document you can change this attribute directly. The exact method to change it is different in different versions of Word. [Edit] You can check formatting of a particular word by clicking on it and then pressing Shift+F1. You should see something like this: Under Font formatting does it say : Language: Do not check spelling or grammar? The screenshot above is from a computer with only one language installed, with spelling and grammar installed and active. This is a character(font)-level formatting in Word.
