field controls for automation via excel
all, I am creating a .dotx file and I'm wanting controls to be in various places in the document that I can throw excel data to. I know there are many ways to do this, but I'm wondering what thoughts you guys have on how to do this... just putting textboxes everywhere? inserting field placeholders? I tried field placeholders, but it doesn't seem like there are any options in the "type of field" options that would satisfy this. Can you just pick an alias type for the sake of needing a type if you are using fields for this process? That is my idea right now. Does anyone else here have a better one? Any comments welcome. thanks guys. |
