Default PDF Conversion Issues

So I just finished my business plan in Word and I need to convert it to PDF. However, when I do random parts of the document get messed up.

It will look fine at first glance, but then in a random paragraph two words will be put together when there was a space between them before...there will be several instances of this. Although it's minor, this is my business plan so I can't present something like that to investors.

One other note: We had to place an image on our cover page so that it covered the ENTIRE first page (black background, didnt want any white showing). This made us change some margins but I can't see how that would make random sets of words get bunched together.

I really appreciate any help on this issue.

Thanks!

When I've seen similar behaviour with other programs, it's been a font question. Do you also get letters too close together in some individual words, or just spaces falling out between words? all I can suggest is that you experiment with a couple of other fonts and see if that helps.
As for the cover … printing a black background wastes an awful lot of toner, and many printers (physical devices, not guys at the repro shop) can't print to the edge of the paper anyway.

Interesting, I'm not sure if that's the issue though but I'll give it a shot. Every time we save it the pdf will have different words grouped together. It's so frustrating because we have to re-read the ENTIRE plan every time just to find the errors.

As for the cover page, we are not too worried about the printing issue since we are mainly sending the plan via e-mail to people.

Thanks for the help, I do appreciate it.
