Default edit footnote

Hi,
I want to remove or shrink the large blank space before my footnote (see the image I attached). I cannot click in it or shrink it with the ruler on the right side.
How can I do that?
Any help will be appreciated!

Default footnote spacing

Have you tried editing the text of the footnote to see if there are just a few returns at the top?
