I can't delete the final, blank page of my word document without the header and footer getting deleted from the entire document.
This happens when I delete the "section break" at the end of page that I am keeping prior to the blank page that I am deleting. Can someone give me the right method to do this? Thank you. |

I have seen this, and tried some of the suggestions but they do not work - completely. Regarding the part about making the paragraph smaller - I was able to change the pt size to 1 in both the "blank" header and the main body of the same "blank" page. Now there are no paragraph symbols, just a blank page. But, when I try to delete the page break after the last paragraph of the final written page, my header disappears. Edit: Forget what I said above, changing the paragraph symbols to 1pt. Did nothing but make them tiny. The end of the document still is the "blank" page. Ugghhh. This is very frustrating, and unfortunately I can't charge my clients. |

Sorry, I should have posted the link to http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...thsections.htm as well. The article explains the principles of section formatting (and the possible consequences as you delete a section break).
You'll notice that the article hasn't been updated for Word 2007/2010/2013, which means that menu commands aren't 100% correct. As an example, File | Page Setup is no longer available; to display the Page Setup dialog box for the current section, you can double-click the vertical ruler.

Just to clarify, we are talking Microsoft Word and not Word Perfect?
The link below should give you the Word 2007-13 controls. Sections / Headers and Footers in Microsoft Word 2007-2013 |

Wow. What a pain.
This is not such a hardcore document where I need section breaks. Section breaks gone, Header reinserted, problem solved. Thanks for the info. I will keep it handy. "Word Perfect" is just a screen name. Kind of a joke is all as Word Perfect was the first word processor I used years ago. |
