Default How to remove the dotted lines from a table of content?

I am writing a project report. For that I need to have a table of content in which the space between the title of the heading and its page number should not have a dotted line. I want that space to be blank? any possible way to do that?

Modify the tab settings in the ToC style definitions: one approach is …
  1. press ctrl + shift + s [all together] to open the Apply styles dialog
  2. put the cursor at the end of the first entry in the table of contents – the Apply style dialog (probaby shows) Hyperlink
  3. press the left arrow to move the cursor back – with any luck, the Apply style dialog now shows ToC 1
  4. click [Modify] in the Apply style dialog
  5. select Tabs in the Modify style dialog
  6. in the Leader group, select the radio button for None
  7. click [Set], then click [OK] – now you've updated the first ToC style
  8. click [OK] again to close the Modify style dialog
Repeat from step 2 for each style in the ToC. (step 3 will show the name of each style)

Question for the forum: I tried editing ToC Base first, but this didn't seem to change anything.

Excellent answer!

I'm going to have to modify my Complex Documents chapter to include information on changing the formats of automatically generated tables.
