Default One page [only] Word

Trying to make my ribbon more useable for me, I somehow have limited any new Word document to one page only and can not find a way to get it back to normal. Help?

Also, I entered 32 bit Office but don't know what it is or how to find out - though have tried.

Office is installed as either 32-bit or 64-bit. For your question, it does not matter.
Try renaming normal.dotm to normalold.dotm with Word closed.

When you say any new document can only be one page, what happens if you type more?

Yes, how do you know it is restricted to one page? While not impossible, to do so would take some serious doing. And what has this to do with making the ribbon more useable?

I was trying to make the ribbon more useful for my applications; i.e. under ‘Home’ don’t need, use or want all that space given to Styles; but would like rows and columns, page setup, etc.
In any event Word is all messed up now. No styles on Home but also no cut, copy or paste.
Also, the right margin goes into a no response dead zone regardless of margin setting. Examples of the one page only condition: if typing, at the end of that page the second page will not come up; or, copying a two page document and pasting it to a blank Word document, it will paste only the first page, but; if a section of that paste is deleted or space on that first page can be gained, then part of that un-pasted second page will appear on the bottom of the ‘first’ page. - but no second page.
Hope that helps to find a solution.

Default Normal

I replied to your post yesterday, but I didn't think to suggest the technique given above (and often) for starting a new Normal.dotm template. Shame on me, I should have; it's certainly the obvious first thinkg to do.

Cheers,
Ulodesk

Ulodesk,
I can not find the means in the above to rename. A bit of specific guidance would be appreciated.

Majority of changes to Word, causing current problems, were done via File/Options/Customize ribbon/Add-Delete.

You Normal.dotm should be in a location similar to this.

C:\Users\Your UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

Hope this helps.

I truly appreciate your help. Where do I apply/enter/find: C:\Users\Your UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates?

Probably not related, another problem just showed up - 'FILE' is now covered with a black dot with serrated edges - don't know what's going on!

Your UserName is just that, your user name on the computer. If you go to the root directory of your C: drive ("C:\" you should see a folder "Users." Your UserName will be the name of a folder in that folder.

See Normal Template in Microsoft Word - How to Open - at the bottom it shows often used (default) locations for the normal template. Word must be closed when you do this renaming.
