Word 2007 document prints unwanted lines and text
Some very strange things are happening when I print a word document. It only happens on one particular computer running on Windows 8 using Microsoft Word 2007. It does not happen on all word documents that I print, just the ones that were created using a specific template that I created. When printing the document directly to an HP office copier, vertical lines of various lengths and thickness appear on the print. If I print to a .pdf file and then open and print the .pdf file to the same office copier the print comes out fine. When printing directly from this computer to the same office copier, but from a document created on another computer using the same template, I get the same vertical lines and some of the text is transformed to different characters and unreadable. The Template was created using Microsoft Word 2010 on another computer. The template has a header with an attached image and a custom watermark. Documents created using this same template on the computer with Microsoft Word 2010 and printed directly from it to the same HP office copier, turn out fine. Any suggestions why this is happening and solutions would be appreciated.

Can you attach a copy of a sample document that has the problem?

Attached Examples
The original documents were too sensitive to attach, but I created Example Temple that does the same thing. I also created a document using Example Template and then printed it on the office copier. The pdf file is a scan of the print showing the unusual lines. All three files are attached.

I just tried 'printing' your document to PDF and didn't get the spurious lines your PDF shows. That suggests you need to repair Word and/or reinstall your printer drivers. To repair Word go to Help|Detect & Repair.

Like Paul, I suspect the problem is in your printer drivers. It could be in Word, but try replacing the printer drivers first.
Is anyone else connected to that printer, but not through your computer? |

The printer is a newly installed stand alone office copier (not a printer of a computer). Several other computers print to it with no problem. In fact, the computer that is having trouble printing is only having trouble printing a document made from the one template, from Word to the office copier. It has no trouble printing the same document to a pdf file, and has no trouble printing other Word documents to the office copier. I will try reinstalling the printer driver and see if that makes a difference.

Just to clear up any confusion, the trouble is not with printing to a PDF file as micropod stated:
"I just tried 'printing' your document to PDF and didn't get the spurious lines your PDF shows." I also do not get the spurious lines when printing to a PDF, I only get them when I print to the office copier. The pdf I attached is a scan of a Word document, created using the template, printed from Word to the office copier. It just so happens that when I scan a printed document the default file format is PDF. |

In that case the problem is probably with either the office copier's printer driver you're using or the office copier itself. Try uninstalling, then reinstalling the driver.
