What did I not know was a macro? I knew what was provided as a solution on the forum was a macro because (a) the poster said it was a macro (b) I do know what a macro is. However, the idea of using someone's macro to solve the problem is ludicras since this is not my computer - it is the Federal government's computer and there are strict rules. I was given the official macro by our management about 6 months ago. I just failed to integrate it into my ribbon/tool bar and I admitted that.
So "my access to the macro" was not the issue, nor was it relevant to solving the problem. But, the back and forth here allowed me to think about the bookmark problem and get to the root of it - so thanks. This is a great resource and I hope to use it again. I still need to resolve a problem involving the oversized windows...

You did not apparently know that the "create a bookmark" (as a menu item) was a macro. You were stating that it was a "feature" of Word, and macropod was (correctly) replying that it is NOT a feature of Word. It is a created FUNCTION someone made, that has nothing to do with older or newer (or any) versions.

ludicrous? Hardly. It was a macro that was the issue...and a macro is used to solve it.
