Default automatically insert an image into a document

Hi, I am new here to the forum but I have a very quick question. I have a list of folders (management System) and in those folders is about 300 Forms and procedures. Each one has a heading and a footer. On the header is a logo.
My question is, can you set up a master document or template so that the header or footer or image can be changed on all these documents in one go, rather than having to go into each word document, change the logo to a new logo for example,. or a change an element of the header file and all the files will now get this element. Any help appreciated, the thoughts of having to do this all on our documentation is nightmarish.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

Cathal
