Default how to create menu shortcut to insert specific picture

I know this is possible because I've done it before. But I can't figure out how I did it and the "help" function isn't helping.

I want to create an item in my "Insert" menu that automatically inserts a specific picture (in this case, a scanned version of my signature). I know how to add items to menus, for example, "Insert Picture from File" but how do I add insert that particular picture from file?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi
Follow these steps:
1. Record a Macro to insert your signature in any document making sure you select the macro to be stored in your own Normal template and not the current document.
2. Right click on any blank space on the ribbon you wish to add your item.
3. Select "Customise the ribbon.."
Lets say we wish to add the function to the Home Tab.
4. Make sue the Home entry in the right hand box is highlighted by clicking on it.
5. Click on the New Group button at the bottom of the right hand box.
6. New Group (custom) will now appear at the bottom of the list under Home. Click on it to highlight it.
7. At the top of the left hand box click on the little arrow and select Macros from the list.
8. Click on the Macro name that you recorded earlier then click on the Add button between the two boxes.
9. Your macro will now appear in the right hand box under New Group (Custom).
10. Click OK and the macro will appeae on the Home Ribbon.
11. To use this simply place your cursor where you want the image to be placed and click on the button and the image will be inserted.
If you wish to rename the entry on the toolbar follow these steps:
1. Right click on the new button on the home tab and click on Customise Ribbon.
2. Click on the + sign next to New Group (Custom)... entry.
3. Right Click on the macro name and select Rename.
4. Insert the new name and click OK.
5. Click on OK again and the new name will now appear on your Home Ribbon.
Note: Make sure you are not using a Networked version of your template as others will receive the same option and be able to use your signature.
Good luck.
Tony
