Default Attempting to fix margins for numbered lists - how to modify all list items at once?

Hi there,

I'm using Office 2007, and I'm trying to fix up many numbered lists in a document, and the indentation on the numbered lists doesn't match with the rest of the document. Here's a screenshot to illustrate the problem:

You can see that I want to move over the "1.", "2.", "3.", etc bullets to line up with the other paragraphs.

However, even though in the screenshot, the "2.", "3.", and "4." bullets are all gray (I assume that means they're all selected), if I use the indent arrow things on the ruler to move the bullets over, only bullet "2." is moved, and "3." and "4." and all subsequent bullets don't move at all:

How do I modify all the bullets at once, so that I can move them all over in one step?

-------

Bonus Points (and it may be related to my problem):

If you look at the following two screenshots, you can see that if I click on list item 1, only item 1 is shown in gray. But if I click on list item 2, item 2 and all subsequent items are shown in gray. How come if I click on item 1, all the other bullets are not gray-highlighted as well?

Thank you for your time!

The numbers (or bullets) that don't get selected are considered, by Word, not to be part of the same list.

In the long run, you will find it easier to make use of numbered or bulleted styles. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...g20072010.html and http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/bull...s20072010.html.
