Default Format/Size of the Word Document

Hello Everyone,

(I am using W.7. Ultimate. 32 bit. m/s Office 2010)

The following has just started to occur in my Word document.

I click on Word to obtain the format to start entering text.

The designated area opens up, but the Word Document only covers the left half of the area.

I can type in this space, but the text is very small and it can not be enlarged.

If I print it out, it appears on the printed sheet as the chosen font and font size, not small as it appears in the Word Document

I have checked the 'Size' in the 'Page set up' under the 'page layout' tab and A4 is already defined. I have changed this, closed Word down and reopened Word and chosen A4. The result is the same.

Any advice as to how I can re-set Word to open across the whole designated area as it used to do would be much appreciated.

I do not have this problem when using Excel, The Excel page opens in the whole of the designated area.

Thanks in advance,

Colinito

Check your document zoom settings (View>Zoom). There is also a zoom slider on the lower-right corner of the Word window.

Hello Macropod/Paul Edstein,

Many thanks for that answer. I have been using Word for such a long time and this never happened before, so I thought that I had tried everything to correct the effect. Obviously I was incorrect!

I have learned now about the zoom at the bottom of the window - I have also 'found' the zoom under the View tab.

You have solved my problem - so easy when you know how!

All is now 'well with Word' (I wish it was so with the World!)

I shall try to find how to have 'solved' added to this thread.

Regards,

Colinito
