Default Word 2003 problem

I have just gone from Word 97 to Word 2003. I like writing my documents
in Printer Layout view.

A new feature of Word 2003 is that if I have a top margin of 2 cm the
cursor is at the top of the page. Whatever margin I use for top and
bottom of page is snipped from my view in printer layout.

Are you talking about Show/Hide White Space?

If so, move the insertion point to the top or bottom of the page and click the Show White Space or Hide White Space button.

Or you can hide white space by going to Tools, Options, View and unticking 'White space between pages' (but if you then use the above method to show white space, this option gets ticked again).
