Default Lock Down Word document for Form and General Edit

I know this can be done independently but I need to be able to do this alongside each other.

I need to be able to lock a section of the report as a form but allow other parts to be fully editable (including insert images, change styles etc...). The forms need to be legacy as our website parses the information from these fields.

Does anybody know a way to do this?

You could update the website to parse content controls instead of formfields, but that's another issue.

For your current setup, insert Section breaks either side of the portions you want to remain editable, then leave those Sections unprotected when applying the forms protection. When you go to apply the forms forms protection, you'll see 'Sections' in blue appear below the 'Filling in Forms' selection. Click on that and uncheck the sections to be left unprotected.
