Default Can not save read only document

I think Word 2010 has become so complicated to use with all the options that I can no longer intuitively do simple tasks.

I just want to save my Word document, but instead of aloowing it Word warns me that the document is 'read only". I never requested that the document be read only, and I do not know how it happened. I right click on it, and in the properties tab the "read only" box is NOT checked. Please just help me save this dang file normaly.

In all likelihood, you're getting this message because the file is on, or has been copied from, a CD or DVD. Because of the nature of such media, files written to them are usually marked 'read-only' by the operating System, and the 'read-only' attribute remains when copied from such media onto a hard disk or USB drive. This has nothing to do with Word. You can remove the 'read-only' attribute from files on a hard disk or USB drive using Windows Explorer to modify their properties.
