Word automatically adding lines
I have a word document that looks fine on my computer and my work computer (both are office 2010, win7). But when my friend opens it on her computer (office 2007, win7), it adds a bunch of lines and autonumbers before the first paragraph of each chapter. If the chapter's first paragraph begins with 4.1, it'll add lines 1, 2, and 3 above 4.1. If the chapter's first paragraph begins with 6.1, it'll add lines 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 above 6.1. Is there any way of preventing this? Again, it only does this when my friend opens the file on her computer. On my work computer and on my computer at home, the file opens just fine.
I attached pics of what they're supposed to look like and what it looks like when my friend opens it on her computer. |

Could your friend have hidden text displayed? Ask her to click Office button | Word Options | Display and make sure that "Hidden text" and "Show all formatting marks" are cleared (under the "Always show these formatting marks on the screen").
