Default TOC formatting

How do I automatically indent a TOC? I would like to see the following:


Heading 1
heading 2
heading 3
Heading 1


On table of contents I have selected automatic table 1 which shows indents but the result has the left hand margin aligned for all three levels of heading. Am I doing something stupid? Regards John May

You could do that by modifying the "styles" of TOC 1 (for Heading 1), TOC 2 (for Heading 2) and TOC 3 (for Heading 3). Here are some links that should help you:
