Default Unwanted gap at top of page. Help!

Hello Everyone,

I am in desperate need of help. I am currently finishing my PhD thesis and just added a handful of references to my bibliography. When finished I noticed that the formatting of my whole document had changed so that a large space appears at the top of each page.

I've tried Format>> Document...> Verticle alignment =TOP on all pages but it didn't fix the problem.

Cut and past to a new document is not an option as I have been tracking changes and need to keep these intact for my examiners reference.

Does anyone have a solution? Unfortunatley the document is too large to attach here.

I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance,

Nick

Could something have been added to the header so that the content of the main body is being pushed down the page? I'm not using MacWord myself, so I can't be specific, but double-clicking the header area should activate it... Also, have you looked at the margin settings (in the Page Setup dialog box)?

Thanks for your help Stefan.

Whilst I haven't solved the problem in the original document, I have now retrieved an older version (thanks to Mac's Time Machine retrieving a backup I made at 4pm today!) and done a little creative cut and paste to create a new document that is now correct.

Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

Nick
