word 2007 enterprise here are my steps and the results. The drop down box does not show up at all so I can't get to footnote separator & footnote continuation separator in any..verbatim here are my exact steps
1.open document go to view tab >click draft > click (then the document changes) 2. click on references tab Show notes> click A dialogue box appears VIEW FOOTNOTES This document has footnotes and endnotes Do you want to : X view footnote area View endnote area Ok Cancel
