Spell check checking only part of document
I have a periodic occurrence using Word 2003 in that in a document, fully typed by me, with no elements pasted in from any other formatted source, the spell check will highlight words lower down in the document which are not highlighted higher up, as I have already told it to ignore them.
I have also had the spellcheck highlighting a part of a word, ignoring the other letters, the full word being spelled correctly. I always type with the show/hide function on "show", and there are no breaks or hidden text or anything that Word is willing to display to me to suggest that there is any brek in the document. I wonder has anyone come across this or whether they can explain it? It is almost as if Word treats parts of the document as separate documents. Many thanks for your time. |

Hi Adeyo,
If the 'highlighted' words were added after a previous spell-check, any 'ignore' settings that you applied previously do not apply to the added content. If this is an ongoing issue, I suggest you consider adding the words concerned to your custom dictionary.
