Standard and SharePoint Library Properties
Hi,
I am hoping someone out there can help me. I have a collection of about 40 templates that used to be housed in a SharePoint Document library. This SharePoint document library was originally set up in SharePoint services 2.0, and from there went to 2003, and was finally migrated to 2007. I have taken the templates from the SharePoint library and downloaded them to my computer. I was in the process of customizing our Word ribbon and allowing users to pull the templates up via macro calls (e.g. documents.add template:="path to template", etc.) For the forms that were housed on SharePoint, the document information panel shows up once a new document based on that template is called.
Researching on the web shows that you can set those content types in a document library. I go to the document library settings in SharePoint and NONE of the content types according to our SharePoint site have the "always show DIP on document open and initial save for this content type checked". So I'm out of luck there. I open the template to edit in Word, go to the developer tab, click on document panel, which gives display by default value of "Standard and SharePoint library properties". There is a drop down box next to that value, but there are no other values capable of being chosen, except the "Standard and SharePoint library properties" value. The box for "Always show document information panel on document open and initial save" is unchecked in this panel as well.
Looking at another form that was never housed on SharePoint, if I pull up the document panel under Developer, the Display by default value is set to a value of just "Standard Properties", not "Standard and Sharepoint library properties". Again, the drop down box has no other selections available here. New documents based off of this template do not have the issue of auto-displaying the document information panel. I would like to get all of my templates to behave as this form - in other words STOP auto-displaying document information panel, preferably without having to recreate all 40 templates. Does anyone have any help/insight/tips? My google-fu does not seem to be finding any answers on this one.
