Default Tab leaders, help needed urgently

Hello!

I have the following problem which drives me crazy. I have two levels of tabs which have leading dots. What I am trying to achieve is this:

Level 1..........XYZ
Level 2.......ABC
Level 2.......DEF
Level 1..........XYZ

However, for some reason, Word is putting an empty space between the dots on level 1, like so (also please see attached screen capture):

Level 1....... ..XYZ
Level 2.......ABC

I have played around with the Tabs settings and tried everything, but I can't get rid of the stupid empty space. I would really need this solved so many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi schubi,

The gap may be just a display issue, or it could be a print driver issue. If the document prints correctly, it's a display issue. In that case, check for an updated display driver from your display card maker's website. Otherwise, check for an updated print driver from your printer maker's website.

Hey macropod,

thanks for your tip. The space is however visible both on-screen and printed and also if I save to PDF, both from Word and with CutePDF. This would suggest it's software and/or setting related(?).

Cheers!

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of CutePDF. Are you using CutePDF, or your normal printer, for the print driver when saving the document as a PDF?

CutePDF has it's own driver. The result is the same if I save to PDF from Word . the blanks are still there.

Hi schubi,

I'm having trouble replicating the behaviour. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.
