Hi everyone,
Am experiencing printing issues from Word 2007. We have recently installed a Dell 2350dn laser printer(don't think this is the issue but thought worth mentioning), which works fine for most users but then suddenly for certain users Word will start displaying a message that simply says 'Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup'. If you try and open the printer properties from the print dialogue box you get the same error message. Have tried other documents, a new document, restarting Word and PC and you get the same error. Reinstall the driver and it might briefly work but then the error will suddenly just pop back up again. Have also run the diagnostics facility within Word, after this you click print it gives a brief glimpse of the window saying 'sending page 1 of 1 to printer' but nothing is in the print queue and then the same error message appears... Any suggestions, or anyone had any problems with Dell drivers etc |

Did you have this problem before the installation of the Dell Printer? Have you tried using another printer (or, is the Dell the only one)?

No problems before we installed the printer. If the message appears and we then try and print the document again but select another printer the same message appears.
As a trial yesterday (after posting my message) I uninstalled all the Dell bits from one of the problem machines and we seem fine just printing on another of our printers. Looks like the installed Dell bits could be causing the issue. Not sure why it just seems to occur on a select few machines though? |
