Default keeping a row together

I've inherited a document that includes a table. Each cell in the second column contains a short piece of text, and then a graphic.

Even if I deselect the option "Allow row to break across pages", the last row on the page is breaking – the text stays at the bottom of the page, the graphic shows up at the top of the next page.
How do I keep the content of the row together on one page?
Thanks in advance.

Workaround discovered – replace paragraph marks in content with soft returns. Not altogether satisfactory, but it gets the job done.

Your problem description suggests you have a conflict between the table size (eg too large to fit on a single page), the 'Allow row to break across pages' setting and paragraphs formatted as 'keep with next' (prevents adjoining rows splitting across page breaks). You could:
• try removing the 'keep with next' attribute from all end-of-cell markers
• reduce the size of the top/bottom margins; and/or
• reduce the height of the content in various/all rows (eg use a smaller font, reduce paragraph before/after spacing, reduce table row top/bottom margings, etc).

Aha … so "keep with next" trumps "don't split row". Worth remembering, and thanks for the tip.
