Default Why have all of my authors been replaced with the generic "author" in comments?

I tried about every search term combination I could think of, but I couldn't turn up a single google page that helped. I know the review functions in word pretty well and it's one of the few things I like and that (usually) works fairly well.

Every once in a while though, all of the comments show the author as "author" instead of the original authors' names which were in the original marked up document.

Our reports go through a series of reviews where one of we authors finishes it, and sends it to the first reviewer, they edit, comment, etc and then send it back where we accept or reject edits and comments, and sometimes comment on a comment for the next reviewer in line.

Every once in a while we'll get a document back where all of the reviewers' names in the comment bubbles have been changed to the generic "author" instead of their names.

Why does this happen? How do you prevent it, or even better FIX it???

Thanks in advance.

The editor names will be removed if someone runs the Document Inspector on the document. What you can do after the fact is clear the "Remove personal information from file properties on save" option (at File tab | Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Privacy Options).
