Find and Replace maintain format
This is my first post. Joined forum today. I wrote a book in Word. I need to be able to change two words with every copy. I set up the chapter headings, but when I find/replace, the entire document shifts and the chapter headings move. It is far too labor intensive. Is there a way to keep the text from shifting? |

Find and Replace maintain format
Thanks for responding. I don't know how to post a sample.
It is a historical novel for children. Each chapter is numbered and placed about a quarter of the way down the page, and the text begins about half way down the page. When it goes on sale soon, I will change the name of each child whose parent purchases it. Their name appears hundreds of times in the entire book and when I apply Find/Replace, the chapter headings move either up or down, and sometimes to the next page. I need them to remain where I put them. |

Find and Replace maintain format
I found the answer in case anyone else has the problem. I simply inserted a page break at the end of each chapter. That limited document movement to each chapter, which is fine.
