How to shut of spell check
I am having an issue with spell check in Word. When I type ish is automatically changes it to his. How can I change this so it doesn't make the change automatically.

This sounds like an AutoCorrection. Click the Office button, and then click Word Options. In the Proofing category, click AutoCorrect Options. On the AutoCorrect tab, see if there is an entry called "ish." If you find it, select and delete it.

How to shut of spell check
Thanks Stefan,
It worked. I also found the option to shut off AutoCorrect. |

Actually, turning off AutoCorrect completely may be overkill. AutoCorrect entries are useful at times.
However, I would recommend you to turn off "Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker" (also in the AutoCorrect dialog box).

Hi Stefan,
Actually that's what I meant to say: I unchecked Automatically use suggestions from the spell checker. Thanks again |
