Default recent docs list – Word vs Windows

The Word 2010 link from the Start button on this Windows 7 PC offers a list of recent files if I hover … usually, the same file name ten times. Not very helpful. The 'recent document' list from the File tab in Word, on the other hand, shows … a correct list of recent documents, one entry per file.

Anyone know if there's a tweak to make the Start link a bit more useful? could save me quite a few clicks in the course of the working week.

Hi
The standard setting (internal) is to display up to the last 10 documents opened. Sounds like you have an issue with your setup. You try and run a repair on your Office installation and see if that cures your issue.
That is of course if you have not opened the same document ten times when of course it would show the same name ten time in the Recent files list .
Good luck.
Tony
