Pictures missing on another computer
Hello,
I've created a Word 2003 document by doing copy-paste of HTML pages opened in Dreamweaver. Then I've worked on the styles and finalized my document. But now when I send this document to another computer, all images and styles are missing, and I can't find why. I attach 2 screenshots : the first shows that the images are correct on computer A, and 2nd shows the missing images on computer B. Note that I've created the file on a computer with Word 2003 in German, and I open the files with Word 2003 in English. Can it be a reason ? (I do not have another computer with Word in German to test it). The document is 115 pages long, and it took much time to work on the style, so I wish I do not need to make it again... Thank you for your help Image OK, computer A Image KO, computer B |

Post a sample.
Would you mind posting a sample of the document here so that we can test it on other machines for you!? Just a 5 page sample would be good!
Also - have a read of this thread and see if it's of any help!! |

Thank you for your answer.
I've tried the solutions of the other thread you've pointed, but still doesn't work. But I could find something interesting : As I explained, I copied-pasted text and images from Dreamweaver to MS Word, and I found that if I remove the original images, they don't appear anymore in MS Word. So it's like Word was keeping the links to thoses images, instead of having really copied the images. Do you have an idea or do I need to insert again all pictures of the 115 pages ? Here you can find a sample of my document if needed : My file |

Your pictures are not being carried over if the Computer B cannot see what is on Computer A
Never have used Dreamweaver, I would, therefore, begin my troubleshooting this way: begin here |

Unfortunately, I think that you are indeed going to have to redo all the pictures in that case - my best advice would be to make sure that the images are all in a folder, then use the Insert > Picture > From file... option - when you have finished entering all the images (boy! that's gonna take some time!!), then I would suggest that you right-click on any of the images and choose Format Picture > Picture (tab) > Compress > All Pictures in Document | Print | tick both boxes in the bottom section. Hopefully, this will ensure that they are embedded in the document fully (and should reduce the file size and load times). |
