Hi
This can be done programatically but perhaps a simpler way may be to use Excel for your form. I have attached a sample to show how it could work. Cell E2 contains your drop down list (built from cells A2:A11). When you select an entry from E2 a VLOOKUP formula is used D2 to pick up the reference number for that item. Hope this helps.
