Persistant Data in Word 2007
Hi all,
I am using Word 2007 to write documents that accompanies software and whenever a new release of the software goes out we have to update this document. My problem is that the version of the software is referenced multiple times throughout the document but I was wondering if there was any way to link parts of my document to one field so that when I update that field all occurences of that data within the document is updated? Is this possible in Word 2007 in compatibility mode? Thanks in advance, Soultech |

Thanks Bird_FAT. That seems to be what I was thinking of but when you delete a part of it then the bookmark doesn't seem to allow you to add any extra parts to it e.g. changing 02.01.00 to 02.01.01 the last 00 part is just removed so everywhere else it becomes 02.01.
I'll also be adding a little bit to the other post as you can actually set Word 2007 to auto update tables etc when you print. (you probably already knew this) |

Quote:
Use Overtype Mode - should prevent the problem - or else recreate the bookmark on the main text as the field code will then reform to fit the new text (as long as the bookmark name is the same!) |
