Default .docx

Turned laptop on this morning and al my Word documents have .docx on the end.

The only thing I can think of is that some microsoft PC health thing ran involuntarily yesterday and recommended an adobe update.

How can I change my Word docs back to normal and what is this stupid PC health and how do I get rid of it?

Talking Ummmm - Nothing wrong with them M8!

*.docx is the standard format for Word 2007 documents - there is nothing wrong with them! - If you really need them to be compatible with Word 2003 then you can either download the compatibility pack for 2003, or open them in 2007 and then Save as... > Word 97-2003 Document

Thanks for your reply,

What i want is just to be able to rename them as I used to without having to include the .docx on the end.

Im not sure if this is what you asking but if you want you files to appear as testfile instead of testfile.doc or testfile.docx, do the following.
My Computer \ Tools \ Folder Options
Choose the VIEW tab and scroll down to Hide Extensions for known file types and make sure this box is ticked.

Sorry if this is not what your askin ding dong.
